1.13, také pod názvem Update Aquatic[1], je nadcházející důležitý update pro Java vydání, jehož vydání je plánováno na rok 2018. Bude se zejména zaměřovat na podvodní svět a technické změny.[2][3] Tento update měl původně být rozdělen a vydán ve dvou částech - 1.13, původně pojmenovaná Technically Updated, která by přinesla technické změny, a 1.14, původně právě Update Aquatic, kde by byly přidány novinky z oceánů.[1] Tento update byl odhalen během livestreamu MineCon Earth 18. listopadu 2017.[4]

Ze začátku měla být verze 1.13 vydána 30. května 2018. Později bylo však vydání posunuto na neurčito, aby mohly být opraveny kritické bugy.[5]

Varianty vzduchu
  • cave_air a void_air.
    • Obě varianty mají úplně stejné vlastnosti jako air.
    • cave_air je generován v jeskyních.
    • void_air je vnitřně používán pro bloky nad (>255) a pod (<0) světem, a v nenačtených chuncích.
Modrý led
Bubliny
  • Způsobovány blokem magmatu nebo pískem duší ve vodě alespoň 2 bloky hluboké.
    • Bubliny nad bloky magmatu strhávají entity dolů, zabraňují předmětům ve stoupání ke hladině a potápí lodě.
    • Bubliny nad pískem duší vynášejí entity vzhůru.
Tlačítka, nášlapné desky a poklopy.
  • Nyní mají rozdílné textury pro všech 6 druhů dřeva.
Vydlabaná dýně
  • Nový blok se starou texturou dýně.
    • Klasické bloky dýní již nemají obličej.
    • Vydlabanou dýni lze získat z normální dýně tím, že na ní kliknete pravým tlačítkem pomocí nůžek. Při tom získáte 4 dýňová semínka.
Zářič
  • Vycraftěn pomocí 1 srdce moře a 8 ulit loděnky.
  • Může být aktivován obestavěním prismarínem, tmavým prismarínem, prismarínovými cihlami a/nebo mořskými lucernami ve tvaru čtverců 5x5 kolem něj.
    • Když je aktivován, dává hráčům v blízkosti účinek vodní živel.
      • Vodní živel pozastaví ubývání dechu, zlepšuje vidění pod vodou a zvyšuje rychlost kopání.
  • Celá struktura ze tří čtverců plně posílí zářič.
    • Při plné síle zářiče se zvýší dosah jeho efektů a nepřátelští mobové ve vzdálenosti 8 bloků budou zraňováni.
      • Oko zářiče ukazuje, jestli právě vyhledává nepřátelské moby: je otevřené, pokud ano, a zavřené, pokud ne.
  • Vysílá silné světlo úrovně 15.
Korál
  • Vyskytuje se v 5 variantách, každá jiné barvy: varhanitkový (modrý), mozkový (růžový), bublinkový (fialový), žahavkový (červený), drsnatý (žlutý).
  • Může být položen pouze pod vodou na horní část bloků.
  • Objevuje se v korálových útesech.
Blok korálu
  • Vyskytuje se ve stejných 5 variantách jako korál.
  • Musí být vytěžen nástrojem s očerováním Něžný dotek, abyste jej získali, jinak se z něj stane blok mrtvého korálu.
    • Každá varianta má mrtvou (šedou) protičást.
    • Pokud se ani jedna z jedno stran nedotýká vody, také se z něj stane blok mrtvého korálu, avšak ne ihned.
      • Bloky mrtvého korálu nemohou být znovu zachráněny.
  • Stejně jako korál, i blok korálu se objevuje v korálových útesech.
Vějíř korálu
Balík sušených chaluh
  • Vypeče 20 předmětů při použití v peci jako palivo.
  • Vycraftěn ze sušených chaluh, ty z něj mohou být rozcraftěním získány zpět.
Chaluha
  • Může být položena pouze pod vodou, vyžaduje alespoň jeden blok vody nad sebou.
    • Na souši může být položena pomocí příkazu /setblock.
  • Objevuje se v oceánech, s výjimkou teplých oceánů.
  • Může vyrůst do výšky několika bloků.
  • Její textura je animovaná.
  • Může být vypálena do sušené chaluhy.
Prismarínové schody a půlbloky.
  • Dostupné ve všech 3 variantách: z prismarínu, tmavého prismarínu a prismarínových cihel.
  • Schody mohou být vycraftěny pomocí 6 bloků daného materiálu, půlbloky pomocí 3.
Mořská tráva
  • Stejně jako chaluha, i mořská tráva se vyskytuje ve vyšší variantě.
  • Její textura je animovaná.
  • Objevuje se v oceánech (včetně podvodních jeskyní), řekách a bažinách.
  • Může být vytvořena použitím kostní moučky na jakýkoli blok pod vodou.
  • Při zabití vypadává z želv.
Ohnivka
  • Objevují se v teplých oceánech, zejména kolem korálových útesů.
  • Na jeden blok mohou být položeny až 4.
  • Za každou vydávají světlo o síle 3, ale pouze pod vodou.
  • Mohou být vypáleny na světle zelené barvivo.
Shulkerova schránka
  • Nová neobarvená varianta.
Oloupané dřevo
  • Varianta dřeva s oloupanou texturou na všech stranách.
  • Vytvořené kliknutím sekerou na blok dřeva.
  • Má stejné vlastnosti jako kmeny, může být využito pro vytvoření prken.
Oloupaný kmen
  • Varianta kmenů bez kůry.
  • Vytvořen kliknutím sekerou na blok kmene.
  • Má stejné vlastnosti jako kmeny, může být využit pro vytvoření prken.
Želví vajíčko
  • Získáno při spáření želv.
  • Stoupnutí na vajíčko jej rozbije.
    • Zombie a prasečí zombie se úmyslně budou snažit vajíčka rozbít.
  • Po chvíli se vajíčka stanou lehce a následně ještě více popraskaná.
    • Z velmi popraskaných vajec se postupně vylíhnou želvičky.

  • Dává hráči účinek Snášení se.
Šíp želvího mistra
  • Má stejný účinek jako lektvar želvího mistra, dává hráči Odolnost a Zpomalení.
Bloky dřeva
  • Nově mají formu předmětu a lze je najít v inventáři tvořivé hry.
    • Tak tomu je u všech 6 typů.
  • Nově mohou být vycraftěny, ze 4 kmenů ve čtverci se stanou 3 dřeva.
  • Při pokládání se chovají stejně jako kmeny a jiné podobné bloky.

Ladicí hůlka
  • Technický předmět používaný ke změně stavu blocků.
    • Kliknutí levým tlačítkem změní vybraný stav, kliknutí pravým tlačítkem prochází hodnotami vybraného stavu. Kliknutí se ⇧ Shiftem prochází v opačném pořadí.
Sušená chaluha
  • Získaná vypálením chaluhy.
  • Lze ji sníst, obnoví 1 (Half Hunger.svg) bod hladu.
  • Může být přecraftěna do bloku sušených chaluh.
Kbelík s rybou
  • Objevuje se ve 4 variantách: s treskou, lososem, čtverzubcem a tropickou rybou.
  • Získaná kliknutím kbelíkem vody na rybu.
  • Při použití položí blok vody a danou rybu v něm.
Srdce moře
  • Používá se k výrobě zářiče.
  • Lze jej nalézt v zakopaných pokladech.
Chaluha
  • Může být použita k položení rostoucí chaluhy pod vodou.
  • Může být vypálena v peci na sušenou chaluhu.
Muchomůrkový blok
  • Nově jej lze nalézt v inventáři tvořivé hry.
Třeň
  • Má formu předmětu, lze jej nalézt v inventáři tvořivé hry.
Ulita loděnky
  • Používaná k vycraftění zářiče.
  • Lze jí získat při rybaření.
  • Utopenec se může zrodit se schránkou loděnky v ruce.
Zkamenělý dubový půlblok
  • Nově má vlastní model.
  • Vypadá jako dubový půlblok, ale má vlastnosti kamenného.
Blána přeludu
  • Vypadává z přeludů.
  • Používá se na opravení krovek.
  • Může z ní být uvařen lektvar snášení se.
Lektvar snášení se
Lektvar želvího mistra
  • Dává Zpomalení IV a Odolnost III na dobu 1 minuty.
  • Při uvaření s ruditovým práškem se délka účinku prodlouží na 3 minuty.
  • Uvaření se světlitovým práškem účinky zesílí na Zpomalení VI a Odolnost IV.
  • Stejně jako z jiných lektvarů z něj lze udělat vrhací lektvar a doznívající lektvar, pomocí střelného prachu nebo dračího dechu.
Želví destička
Hladký křemen, vyhlazený rudý pískovec, vyhlazený pískovec s hladký kámen
  • Stejně jako dřevo, nyní mají formu předmětu a lze je nalézt v inventáři tvořivé hry.
Vajíčko s mobem
Trojzubec
  • Nová zbraň.
  • Může být odhozen nebo použit jako zbraň na blízko. Způsobuje 9 (Heart.svgHeart.svgHeart.svgHeart.svgHalf Heart.svg) bodů zranění.
  • Lze jej získat zabitím utopence.
Helma z želvoviny
  • Vycraftěná z želvích destiček.
  • Může být použita jako helma, kdy dává 2 (Armor.svg) body brnění.
    • Když ji má hráč na sobě mimo vodu, dává mu účinek Dýchání pod vodou na 10 vteřin, čímž mu o tuto dobu prodlužuje pobyt pod vodou.
  • Může být použita k uvaření lektvaru želvího mistra z běžného lektvaru.

Delfín
  • Spawnují se ve všech oceánech s výjimkou ledového.
  • Neutrální mob. Jako vlci nebo prasečí zombie, delfíni zaútočí ve skupince, pokud k tomu jsou vyprovokováni.
  • Mohou být nakrmeni syrovou treskou, ale nemohou se pářit.
    • Při smrti z nich vypadne treska.
  • Hrají si s předměty v blízkosti tak, že je seberou a hned nato opět upustí.
  • Čas od času vyskočí z vody a nadechnou se.
    • Také mohou přeskakovat mezi oddělenými vodními plochami.
  • Plavou za loděmi a často vyskakují nad vodu.
  • Po delším čase na souši se začnou dusit.
  • Pokud se začnou topit, vyplavou na povrch.
  • Dávají hráči účinek Delfíní přízeň, pokud připlave do jejich blízkosti.
  • Mohou hráčům pomoci najít zakopaný poklad. Když jsou nakrmeni syrovou treskou, poplavou k nejbližšímu vraku nebo podmořské zřícenině.
Utopenec
  • Spawnují se ve všech oceánech a řekách, včetně podmořských zřícenin.
  • Zombie se promění v utopence po určité době pod vodou.
  • Utopenci se mohou spawnovat s trojzubcem nebo ulitou loděnky, díky čemuž mohou být tyto předměty získány ve hře o přežití.
  • Nestoupají k povrchu, ale mohou plavat (avšak preferují chůzi po dně).
  • Všichni utopenci mohou útočit na blízko. Utopenci s trojzubcem mohou navíc útočit na dálku.
  • Stejně jako zombie napadají malé želvy a ničí jejich vajíčka.
Ryby
  • Treska
    • Spawnuje se ve studených, normálních a vlažných oceánech.
    • Shlukuje se do skupinek až 9 jedinců.
  • Losos
    • Spawnuje se v řekách, v ledových a studených oceánech.
    • Shlukuje se do skupinek až 6 jedinců.
  • Čtverzubec
    • Spawnuje se ve vlažných a teplých oceánech.
    • Pokud se hráč přiblíží, nafoukne se.
    • Hráčům v blízkosti dá účinek Otrava na 7 sekund.
  • Tropická ryba
    • Spawnuje se ve vlažných a teplých oceánech.
    • Objevuje se ve 14 různých barvách a vzorech.
  • Lze je získat zabitím.
  • Mimo vodu sebou plácají a později se udusí.
    • Pomalu se budou snažit doplácat k vodě.
  • Mohou být chyceni do kyblíku vody.
Přelud (Mob B)
  • Vybrán diváky livestreamu MineCon Earth.[4]
  • Spawnuje se v světě ve vysokých výškách, snáší se dolů ve skupinkách kolem 3 až 4, aby zaútočil na hráče, kteří dlouho nespali.[4]
    • Hráč musí být nad úrovní moře.
  • Jsou považováni za nemrtvé moby.
    • Proto jsou zraňováni lektvary léčení, léčeni lektvary ublížení, neútočí na ně wither a funguje na ně očarování Smite.
    • Na slunečním světle hoří.
  • Po smrti z nich vypadne 0-1 blána přeludu.
Želva
  • Vodní mob, jenž si na pobřeží vytváří hnízda s vajíčky.
  • Malé želvičky se líhnou z vajíček a hned poté se přesouvají do vody.
  • Želvy mohou být spářeny pomocí mořské trávy.
  • Spawnují se na plážích teplých biomů.
  • Na své domovské pláži pokládají vajíčka.
  • Po smrti z nich vypadne 0-2 mořské trávy.
  • Když malé želvičky vyrostou, vypadne z nich želví destička.

Biomy
  • Přidány minecraft:sky_island_low (Endové ostrůvky), minecraft:sky_island_medium (Endové vnitrozemí), minecraft:sky_island_high (Endová vysočina), aminecraft:sky_island_barren (Endová pustina).
    • Všechny 4 jsou generovány v různých částech vnějších ostrovů Endu, které dříve pouze využívaly biom "End".
  • Přidány minecraft:warm_ocean (Teplý oceán), minecraft:lukewarm_ocean (Vlažný oceán), minecraft:cold_ocean (Chladný oceán), minecraft:warm_deep_ocean (Hluboký teplý oceán), minecraft:deep_lukewarm_ocean (Hluboký vlažný oceán), minecraft:deep_cold_ocean (Hluboký chladný oceán), a minecraft:deep_frozen_ocean (Hluboký ledový oceán), ačkoli hluboké teplé oceány přirozeně nejsou generovány.
  • minecraft:frozen_ocean (Ledový oceán) je nyní opět generován.
Bufet
  • Nový typ světa: může být vytvořen vybráním možnosti "Bufet" jakožto typ světa.
  • Generuje světy s jediným biomem.
  • Je dostupný jiný způsob generování chunků.
  • Umožňuje volbu mezi generací terénu jako v světě (jako "Povrch"), Netheru (jako "Jeskyně") nebo Endu (jako "Ostrovy v prostoru").
Zakopané poklady
  • Nová struktura se stávající ze zakopané truhly s kořistí.
  • Má vlastní tabulku kořistí buried_treasure.
  • Mapy nalezené v podmořských zříceninách vás k ní mohou zavést.
Korálové útesy
Ledovce
  • Generují se v ledových oceánech.
Vraky
  • Objevují se v oceánech a na plážích.
  • Obsahují 1-3 truhly obsahující různé typy kořisti v závislosti na lodi.
  • Mohou se generovat vzpřímené, na boku či vzhůru nohama.
Podvodní jeskyně
  • Objevují se v mnoha variantách včetně trhlin.
    • Podvodní trhliny často na dně obsahují bloky magmatu, které způsobují bubliny.
Podmořské zříceniny
  • Objevují se v mnoha tvarech a velikostech.
  • Chladné zříceniny mohou být nalezeny v chladných a ledových oceánech, nezávisle na hloubce.
  • Teplé zříceniny mohou být nalezeny v teplých, vlažných a hlubokých vlažných oceánech.

    • Má III úrovně vylepšení.
    • Používá se na trojzubcích, aby se vrátil, když byl hoden.
  • Mocný záběr
    • Má III úrovně vylepšení.
    • Není kompabilitní s Věrnost a Výboj.
    • Používá se na trojzubcích pro přenos hráče, když je hodil ve vodě nebo dešti. Mocný záběr nebude házet trojzubec, ale vyrazí vás dopředu.
    • Pokud hráč není ve vodě a neprší, hráč není schopen házet trojzubce očarované mocným záběrem, ale stále dokáže vypořádat se s poškozením.
    • Zobrazují hráči animaci při otáčení.
Značky na mapách
  • Přidána možnost přidávat značky na mapy.
    • Použijte na banner mapu, kterou chcete přidat na mapu.
    • Klepnutím pravým tlačítkem na stejný banner znovu, jej odeberte.
    • Tato mapa zobrazí základní barvu banneru na tomto místě.
    • Pojmenované bannery zobrazí na mapě název.
    • Pokud je banner zničen, zmizí, když se přiblížíte při držení mapy.

Pohyb

    • Hitboxy hráčů jsou jen tak velcí jako bloky 0,6 × 0,6 (stejně jako při létání s krovky) při plavání.
    • Vertikálně a horizontálně hráč může proplavat jedno blokovou mezerou.
Stav efektu

  • Conduit Power
    • Dává uživateli neomezené vodní dýchání.
    • Dává hráči podvodní efekt nočního vidění.
    • Poskytuje hráči rychlý efekt (umožňující jim rychleji se ponořit).

  • Dolphin's Grace
    • Hráč rychleji plave.
    • Získané plaváním v blízkosti delfínů.

  • Slow Falling
    • Způsobuje, že hráč sestoupil mnohem pomaleji a nezaznamenal žádné škody, když narazil na zem.
    • Umožňuje hráči skočit dál.
      • Pokud hráč sprintuje, zatímco na něho působí efekt Snášení se, bude moci skákat přes mezery nad 512 bloky, ve srovnání s 4 s normálním sprintem.
    • Plodiny nebudou zničeny, jestliže na ně hráč přistane s efektem Snášení se.
    • Vyšší úrovně nemění míru sestupu.

Hlavní
  • Přidáno uživatelské rozhraní příkazu, které se zobrazuje při psaní příkazu v chatu.
    • Různé kombinace příkazů se zobrazí v různých barvách.
    • Chyby budou zobrazeny červeně, aniž by bylo nutné spustit příkaz.

Souřadnice
  • Do příkazů byl přidán nový typ místní souřadnice ^.
    • Při zadávání souřadnic v příkazu můžete nyní použít ^ pro určování místní souřadnice místo světových souřadnic.
    • Osy používané pro lokální souřadnice jsou relativní vzhledem k rotaci provedení, čímž je výchozí 0,0 (jih).
    • Stejně jako světové souřadnice, jsou ve výchozím nastavení měřeny od základny entity.

/bossbar
  • /bossbar create <id> <name> will create a boss bar.
    • id is used to target the boss bar and is in the form namespace:name, for example: foo:bar. If no namespace is specified it defaults to minecraft.
    • name is the display name of the boss bar and only accepts a JSON text component.
  • /bossbar set <id> name <name> will change the name of the boss bar.
  • /bossbar set <id> color <color> will change the color of the text (if no color was specified as part of a text component) and the boss bar, defaults to white.
  • /bossbar set <id> style <style> will change the style of the boss bar, defaults to progress.
    • Available options are: notched_6, notched_10, notched_12, notched_20, and progress.
    • notched will set the amount of segments.
    • progress will set the amount of segments to 1.
  • /bossbar set <id> value <value> will change the current value of the boss bar, defaults to 0.
  • /bossbar set <id> max <max> will change the maximum value of the boss bar, defaults to 100.
  • /bossbar set <id> visible <visible> will change the visibility of the boss bar, defaults to true.
  • /bossbar set <id> players <players> will change which players can see the boss bar, defaults to none.
  • /bossbar remove <id> will remove the boss bar.
  • /bossbar list will display a list of created boss bars.
  • /bossbar get <id> (max|players|value|visible) will return the requested setting as a result of the command.
/data
  • A command that allows the player to get, merge, and remove entity and block nbt data.
  • /data get block <pos> [<path>] [<scale>]
    • Will return the NBT data from the block at pos. A path can be specified to only retrieve that nbt data. Numeric values will be set as the result of the command, strings will set the length of the string as the result, lists will set the number of elements in the list as the result, and compounds will set the number of tags that are directly in that compound as the result. An optional scale can be provided to scale the number retrieved.
  • /data get entity <target> [<path>] [<scale>]
    • Will return the NBT data from one target entity. A path can be specified to only retrieve that nbt data.   • /data remove block <pos> <path>
    • Will remove nbt data at path from the block at pos.
  • /data remove entity <target> <path>
    • Will remove nbt data at path from one target entity. Removing player nbt data is not allowed.
  • Data paths look like this: foo.bar[0]."A [crazy name]".baz.
    • foo.bar means foo's child called bar.
    • bar[0] means element 0 of bar.
    • "quoted strings" may be used if a name of a key needs to be escaped.

  • A command to control loaded data packs.
  • Has the following subcommands:
    • enable <name> - will enable the specific pack.
    • disable <name> - will disable the specific pack.
    • list [available|enabled] - will list all data packs, or only the available/enabled ones.
  • Data packs are enabled by default, but if you disable it you can re-enable it with these commands:
    • enable <name> - will enable the specific pack, putting it in its default position.
    • enable <name> first - will enable the specific pack, putting it before any other pack (lowest priority).
    • enable <name> last - will enable the specific pack, putting it after any other pack (highest priority).
    • enable <name> before <existing> - will enable the specific pack, putting it before (lower priority) <existing> pack.
    • enable <name> after <existing> - will enable the specific pack, putting it after (higher priority) <existing> pack.

  • Added a clickable teleport link to the command output.
/scoreboard

  • Tags are created using data packs in data/(namespace)/tags/blocks, data/(namespace)/tags/items, and data/(namespace)/tags/functions.
    • When overriding a tag from a different data pack, you can choose to replace or append.
      • By default all tags append if another data pack created the tag.
      • Adding "replace": true to your tag definition will make the tag overwrite instead.
    • For example: data/(namespace)/tags/blocks/foo.json
    • This will create a block tag called (namespace):foo.
    • The json file contains a list of all blocks that should be "tagged".
      • This list can also contain other tags of the same type.
        • You can add for example #foo:bar in a tag value list to reference another tag called foo:bar.

  • There are 7 extra vanilla tags for blocks: minecraft:anvil, minecraft:enderman_holdable, minecraft:flower_pots, impermeable, minecraft:slabs, minecraft:stairs and wall_corals.
    • Blocks in the impermeable tag are prevented from showing dripping liquid particles. By default, the tag contains glass and all stained glass blocks.
  • There is 1 extra vanilla tag for items: minecraft:boats.
  • Separated some of the logic for blocks and fluids[8].

Water physics

    • Water can flow out of these blocks, but can not flow into them.
    • When full of water, they will count as water blocks for all gameplay (such as swimming).
    • Water will flow out of all faces of the block except for solid faces.

  • All of the blocks that water can be placed in now have the block state waterlogged.
  • Blocks such as bubble column or kelp will always count as a water source.

  • The upper limit of the block ID has dissappeared.

    • Affected: anvils, cauldrons, hoppers, fences, iron bars, glass panes, filled end portal frames, vines, lily pads, stairs, brewing stands, and pistons.

Bed
  • Beds now require a block below it as a support. Previously this was only required when placing the bed and the block could be destroyed afterwards without the bed being destroyed.
Chests and trapped chests
  • They can be put directly next to their double variants instead of requiring one block between them.
    • Shift right-clicking a chest or trapped chest will only make it try to connect to the clicked chest or trapped chest if possible, else it’ll become a single chest or trapped chest.
Dispenser
  • Crafting no longer requires a fully repaired bow.[9]
Fence gates
  • Placing them no longer requires a block below them.
Leaves
  • Naturally-generated leaves now survive at a distance of up to 6 blocks from logs, instead of 4.
    • The block state for leaves changed from a check_decay and decayable Booleans to distance (ranging from 1 to 7) and a persistent Boolean.

  • Flicking a lever on now displays redstone particles.
Magma blocks
  • Now generate at the bottom of ocean ravines, creating downward bubble columns.
Monster eggs
  • They will now break instantly, no matter the tool.
    • When broken with Silk Touch, the non-infested counterpart of the block will drop.

  • Server commands (functions, console, rcon) now run from world spawn in the overworld, instead of at 0,0,0.
  • Errors during a command are now a nicer error message (with a tool tip for more info).

      • /execute positioned <pos> <chained command> executes a command using the position of <pos>.
      • /execute positioned as <entity> <chained command> executes a command using the position (x y z) of the entity but nothing else.
      • /execute align <axes> <chained command> executes a command after aligning the current position to the block grid (rounding down), <axes> is any combination of x y and z (for example: x,xz,zyx and yz).
        • Examples:
          • x=-1.8,y=2.3,z=5.9 using x will become x=-2,y=2.3,z=5.9
          • x=2.4,y=-1.1,z=3.8 using yxz will become x=2,y=-2,z=3
      • /execute facing <x y z> <chained command> executes a command as though the executor is facing x y z.
      • /execute facing entity <entity> (eyes|feet) <chained command> executes a command as though the executor is facing the entity's eyes or feet.
      • /execute rotated as <entity> <chained command> executes a command as though the executor is rotated in the direction of the entity.
      • /execute rotated <y x> <chained command> will run the command as though the executor is rotated in the specified direction.
      • /execute in (overworld|the_end|the_nether) <chained command> executes a command as though the executor is in the specified dimension.
      • /execute anchored (feet|eyes) <chained command> will make the rest of this command use feet or eyes for ^ ^ ^ coordinates or facing commands.
    • Conditional sub-commands can let you prevent the command from running at all:
      • /execute (if|unless) block <pos> <block> <chained command> executes a command if (or unless) <pos> matches <block>.
      • /execute (if|unless) blocks <begin> <end> <destination> (all|masked) <chained command> executes a command if (or unless) the region between <begin> and <end> matches <destination>.
      • /execute (if|unless) entity <entity> <chained command> executes a command if (or unless) <entity> exists (returns 1 or more entities).
      • /execute (if|unless) score <target> <targetObjective> (<|<=|=|>=|>) <source> <sourceObjective> <chained command> executes a command if (or unless) <target>'s score relates to <source>'s score based on the chosen criterium.
      • /execute (if|unless) score <target> <objective> matches <range> <chained command> executes a command if (or unless) <target>'s score is in the range (ie 1, 1..5).
    • As replacement for /stats, a new sub-command store lets you store the result or success of a command somewhere:
      • result is the result of a command, which replaces these old stats: AffectedBlocks, AffectedEntities, AffectedItems, QueryResult.
      • success is how many times the command was successful. This is usually 0 or 1, but if the command split up (for example as @a) then it may be more than 1. This replaces SuccessCount.
      • The value will be stored when the full command has finished executing.
      • If a command isn't successful (success is 0), result will always be set to 0.
      • It will be made clear what the expected result of each command is.
      • /execute store (result|success) score <name> <objective> <chained command>
        • The value is stored into the scoreboard under <name> and <objective>.
        • The objective must exist, but unlike with /stats you don't need to set an initial value for <name>.
      • /execute store (result|success) block <pos> <path> (byte|double|float|int|long|short) <scale> <chained command>
        • The value is stored in the nbt data at path of the block at pos as a byte, double, float, int, long, or short.
      • /execute store (result|success) entity <target> <path> (byte|double|float|int|long|short) <scale> <chained command>
        • The value is stored in the nbt data at path of one target entity as a byte, double, float, int, long, or short.
        • Like /data, /execute store can't modify player nbt. Nbt inside the tag key of items in the player's Inventory or EnderItems is an exception and can be modified by /execute store[14].
      • /execute store (result|success) bossbar <id> (value|max) <chained command>
        • The value is stored in the value or max setting of the boss bar with ID id.
      • Data paths look like this: foo.bar[0]."A [crazy name]".baz.
        • foo.bar means foo's child called bar.
        • bar[0] means element 0 of bar.
        • "quoted strings" may be used if a name of a key needs to be escaped.
      • Examples:
        • /execute store success score @a foo run say hi
        • /execute as @e[type=pig] at @s store success entity @s Saddle byte 1 if entity @p[distance=..5]
    • You can chain all sub-commands together.
      • After every sub-command you need to write another sub-command.
      • When you're done with chaining sub-commands, run lets you write the actual command to be executed.
        • / is no longer allowed before the command.

  • /xp is now an alias for /experience.
  • Split up into 3 different subcommands:
    • /experience add <players> <amount> [points|levels]
      • Adds <amount> of either points or levels to the target <players> (defaults to points).
      • Adding points can cause players to level up, as usual.
      • Negative numbers are supported, to subtract points instead.
      • Subtracting points can cause players to level down.
    • /experience set <players> <amount> [points|levels]
      • Sets <amount> of either points or levels on the target <players> (defaults to points).
      • You cannot set more points than their current level allows.
      • When changing levels, the points will stay at the same percentage as the previous level.
    • /experience query <player> (points|levels)
      • Returns either the number of points or levels on the given <player>.
/fill
  • The syntax of /fill has been changed.

Target selectors
  • More error handling has been introduced.
    • Things like limit=0, level=-10, gamemode=purple are not allowed.
  • Arguments may now be quoted.
  • There are no longer separate "min" and "max" values; instead ranges are supported.
    • level=10 is level 10.
    • level=10..12 is level 10, 11 or 12.
    • level=5.. is anything level 5 or above.
    • level=..15 is anything level 15 or below.
  • The arcane shorthand names have been renamed.
    • m -> gamemode
    • l or lm -> level
    • r or rm -> distance
    • rx or rxm -> x_rotation
    • ry or rym -> y_rotation

  • x, y, z, distance, x_rotation and y_rotation are now doubles and allow values like 12.34

Blocks
  • Wherever a <block>, optionally [<data>] and optionally [<nbt>] was required, it's now a single <block> argument that looks like this:

    • minecraft:jukebox{RecordItem:{...}}
    • minecraft:furnace[facing=north]{BurnTime:200}
  • ID is required (though just as before, if namespace isn't set it defaults to minecraft:).
  • States are inside [], comma-separated and must be properties/values supported by the blocks. They are optional.
    • minecraft:stone[doesntexist=purpleberry] is a syntax error, because stone doesn't have doesntexist.
    • minecraft:redstone_wire[power=tuesday] is a syntax error, because redstone_wire's power is a number between 0 and 15.
  • NBT tag is inside {}, and works just like you'd expect. It's optional.
  • In the context of "conditions"/testing for blocks, only the states you provided will be tested.
    • If you test redstone_wire[power=15], it only checks power but ignores other states such as north.
  • In the context of setting blocks, any states you provided will be set but anything missed out will default depending on the block.
    • If you set redstone_wire[power=15], it will set power to 15 but north will be a default value (in this case, set to none).
  • There is no such thing as block data value in 1.13. It's either a different block, or a state.
Items
  • Wherever an <item>, optionally [<data>] and optionally [<nbt>] was required, it's now a single <item> argument that looks like this:

  • ID is required (though just as before, if namespace isn't set it defaults to minecraft:).

The "flattening"
  • Numeric block metadata completely phased out in favor of block states.
  • Split, merged, created, deleted, and renamed a lot of blocks, blockstates and items.
    • Blocks and items previously differing because of damage value have gotten their own id, for example white_wool instead of wool:0
    • Damage has been moved to the tag tag and is only used by tools and armor; maps use a map tag.
    • Files and commands no longer use data or set_data.
  • Structures do not run an upgrade path for this.
    • To update your structures, load them all in 1.12, then update to 1.13 and save all structures again.
